There are a lot of web browsers on the market today, with a lot of marketing text and hidden agendas clouding any real evaluation of each browser. Even at Lowter, we heavily lean towards Opera. All of the graphs and speed tests are the worst, with each data set showing almost entirely different results, always skewed towards a particular browser. As is typical at the end of each year, we're going to make some predictions about next year and technology. I'm going to start with my five predictions and Ethan will add his five in a separate blog post tomorrow. At the end of 2009, it will be interesting to see who got what right. Finally, Microsoft is getting on the ball and improving Internet Explorer; a browser that lied dormant for so many years is finally receiving regular signs of improvement. Of course, because Internet Explorer did not improve standards-wise for so many years, it remains far behind other browsers, such as Opera and Firefox.
