The State of Web Development 2006

I'm not sure if anyone else took this survey on SitePoint but the results are quite interesting.

For example 96.27% of people read articels about web design.
67.54% of people use PHP in web development
47.07% want more articles/books about AJAX
36.75% of web developers use a homegrown CMS
40.43% of web developers use Dreamweaver

You can get all the results from:
http://www.sitepoint.com/report2006/sta … esults.pdf

Or if you want to pay you can get extra stuff for only $800 from:
http://www.sitepoint.com/reports/reportwebsurvey2006/

Anything you find interesting/strange?

Would be more interesting to see a similar quiz taken by general internet-users, and not only those interested in web design.

Well, then it would not be about web development per se.

It is very interesting information.  Expensive report though. frown

Yes, but I filled it out with the assurance I would get the results, not half the results, but all of them.  That is what they said when you took the survey.  Oh well, just another money hungry business. frown

$800?!?!?! they must either expect hardly anyone to want to buy it so have to get the money back by knocking the price up or by just screwing everyone over. no doubt you can download it for free somewhere by now

I do wonder how they employ protecting their copyrighted files.  Most people that are going to purchase it are going to be major media companies and the like, so they're not the people to risk getting caught distributing files.
