The current Apple-influenced web trend includes excessive gradients, glassy reflections, spinning pinwheels, and more. A lot of websites nowadays are featuring glossy menus with a very slick gloss to them. It's part of the Web 2.0 fad that has been plaguing the web these past few years. Nonetheless, these menus look pretty snazzy and are actually very easy to create, even for people who are not very talented with Photoshop. Create the Document First, create a new document 430 by 40 pixels. You can vary the dimensions if you wish, the following steps are rather easy to apply to any dimensions. I would recommend at least having elongated dimensions …

Hiring a photographer to take a photograph of a generic object or of a scenic landscape is sometimes a waste of both money and time. Often it is better simply to get the image off of the Internet. You do however have to consider where you get the image from. Simply using an image you found on Google Images is likely to leave you in breach of copyright. Therefore, you will need to look for images with permission from the photographer to use the images commercially. There are many websites setup specifically for this job and sometimes they…

Nonetheless, I'm still working on becoming a master Photoshop illustrator one day. I'm working on trying to create a Christmas scene, hopefully before Christmas... If you want to avoid sifting through Good-tutorials.com's huge selection of illustration tutorials, t…

Adobe has released the official version of its new online photo-editing application: Adobe Photoshop Express. Overall, this application is basically an online photo-editing tool, which works rather well for that job alone. It really is more comparable to the features of iPhoto than to the features of Photoshop itself. I tested out the application for a bit, and I think it certainly has potential, but it also has a lot of room for improvement. On the good side, Adobe Photoshop Express is easy to use and the signup process is quick. Th…

I'm not the best at designing great looking images for my website. Nice looking backgrounds and buttons are things that can take me ages to get to look right. Recently, I found a great website called Bittbox. It's a great little website which has a whole section of free vectors, brushes, and page elements that you can download and use freely. With each of the freebies is a sample of how it can be used and, quite frankly, they look amazing. Check out the freebie section on Bittbox and make sure that you look at all ten pages; there are so…
