Looking For Java Practice?
Published on the 24th of January 2006
If you are looking for some good practice in the Java programming language your wait is over. Kevin Yank has published a fantastic tutorial on making use of Java at SitePoint. Kevin points out that many of the capabilities of newer programming languages have been possible in Java for a long time. He then goes on to demonstrate some common principles in Java.
This tutorial gives anyone a good start into putting Java into practice. It makes a nice transition from learning the basics of the language to actually building something that has a true, defined purpose.

Hmm... I don't think Java works for me, but what the hell (for the record, my explanations made many people pass the exam about Java and programming in general which might prove I kinda know a thing or two).

I think you should buy a book if you are interested in beginning with a new programming language. It's much better than to read online.

This tutorial is not about learning Java, but more about applying it. A book is great to learn the syntax of a language, but most lack lessons to make use of the knowledge. That is where tutorials like this come in handy.
